The Rotary Club of Sierra Madre, California was chartered on June 27, 1997 by a group of dedicated individuals who wanted to serve their community while building friendships and having fun.
The Club is proud of its cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship with the City of Sierra Madre and its citizens.
The Club meets every Tuesday morning from 7am-8:30 am. Our temporary meeting place is at 611 East Sierra Madre Blvd. Look for the blue Rotary banner outside. A typical meeting consists of time for socializing, breakfast, updates on club activities and a program of interest.
The Rotary Club of Sierra Madre is a part of Rotary International and as such values international service and has a committment to the Rotary Foundation in addition to serving the local community. Sierra Madre is a village of about 10,000 people nestled at the base of the scenic San Gabriel mountains. Although it is adjacent to Pasadena and within twenty minutes of downtown Los Angeles, the city maintains it's rural ambiance. Its residents are known for their fierce independance, their spirit of volunteerism, and their occasional quirkiness. Residents call each other by name and love to boast that there is not one traffic light in town. Sierra Madre is known for its many artists in residence and is home to the world's largest flowering plant, a wistaria vine that encompasses two properties in town and is open for public viewing once a year during the annual Wistaria Festival. The city was the proud recipient of the "All American City" award in 2007, while also celebrating the centennial of the founding of the city.
